Keep Track of Every Home Your Family Has

Your house, your cabin, your apartment — each with its own rooms, belongings, chores and paperwork.

A property in Famn is more than an address. It's the home for everything that belongs to that home: the rooms and what's in them, the documents that concern it, the chores that keep it running, and even which vehicles are parked there.

Adding a Home

  1. Go to More → Holdings
  2. Tap Add and choose Home
  3. Search for the address (or enter it manually) and pick the property type — house, apartment, cabin, farm and more
  4. Continue through the steps: building details, features and energy, size, rooms, and value

Only the basics are required. Every other step can be skipped and filled in later — you can always edit the property afterwards.

Tip: Add a photo of the home in the first step. It becomes the card image in your Holdings overview, which makes a big difference once you have more than one property.

A few fields worth knowing about:

  • Make this my primary property — marks your main home
  • Owner type — Own, Rent, Shared ownership or Other; you can also list owners and landlords by name
  • Value snapshot — your best estimate of what the home is worth, with an "as of" date. Use your best estimate; you can update this anytime.

Rooms

Rooms are how belongings stay findable. Add them under the Rooms tab (or already in the wizard):

  1. Open your property and go to the Rooms tab
  2. Tap Add room, give it a name and a category — from Living room and Kids' room to Attic, Workshop and Sauna
  3. Optionally add the area and floor, or mark it as Located outdoors (great for the garage or garden shed)

When you add belongings later, you place them in a room — so "where did we put it?" always has an answer.

The Property Page

Each home has tabs for everything it holds:

  • Overview — key facts, location with Open in maps, size, features, the value snapshot, and a preview of upcoming tasks
  • Rooms — add, edit and remove rooms
  • Items — the home's belongings, organized by room (see the Items guide)
  • Tasks & chores — a chore list that belongs to this home. It's a completely normal Famn chore list ("Chores for …"), so tasks appear in your usual task views, anyone can tick them off, and XP works as always
  • Parked here — which vehicles, caravans and trailers are at this home
  • Insurance — documentation snapshots for this home (see the Insurance Documentation guide)
  • Documents — the home's files: deeds, contracts, appraisals, insurance papers — filterable by category

Parked Here

Keep track of where the caravan actually is:

  1. Open the property and go to the Parked here tab
  2. Tap Park something here and choose a vehicle, caravan or trailer
  3. Optionally note the exact spot — like "In Garage"

When it moves on, remove it with Remove from here. Perfect for families with a cabin: one glance answers whether the trailer is at home or up in the mountains.

Perfect for:

  • Keeping house documents in one place instead of six drawers
  • A chore list per home — the cabin's tasks don't mix with the house's
  • Knowing where the caravan, boat trailer and spare tires currently live
  • Handing over everything about a home in one place when selling
